Greetings Happy People,
One time or another we manage to lose our cool. Whether it is over something small or big, we get upset. It does not matter if we keep it inside or let it out; anger is an emotion that can get the best of us. It can not only hurt the people around us, but it can also hurt us as well.
Within the past year, I noticed different people channeling these negative emotions into something disastrous. These people used anger at work, home, or any other place. They also used different means to communicate their anger (i.e. emails, telephone, letter, or in person). In extreme cases, others use alcohol and drugs to further ignite their spark. No matter the severity of this emotion, it all leads to a common result – the hotter the temper, the hotter the trouble.
What do I mean by this? For any person that displays a noticeable amount of wrath, a negative, damaging energy would return in greater size. This energy can return in different forms. This same energy can also create greater damage for the person exercising the temper. This damage can affect the person physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
To show you what I am talking about, I am going to use the following three subjects. Each has a story where they let anger get the best of them.
SUBJECT 1 – The Worker
Our first subject is someone that does not work to far from where I am. This person was in line for getting a promotion. She thought that this open position was all hers and no one else’s. When she found out that they gave this position to someone else, she was livid!! Before she was in line for this promotion, she had a sour attitude. When she got denied, her attitude became a lot worse. She became hostile towards other co-workers, she became hostile towards guests, and she became hostile towards anything else that walked. She was a walking time bomb. Unfortunately, her self-detonation happened in the form of a massive heart attack. She was out of work for months. She also lost lots of time and lots of energy from her own anger. Fortunately, she returned to work and she is getting better at keeping her emotions in check.
SUBJECT 2 – The Alcoholic
Our second subject is someone that has a bad attitude in the beginning. But when you add alcohol to the mix, you have an instant recipe for disaster. For every drink this person has, her belligerence would greatly multiply. She would become delusional to other people, thinking that they are shouting at her. She would also make angry phone calls to people that would not take her mess in the beginning. She bangs things around the house and becomes more of a hothead for each drink she takes. These fits of rage would turn to either blackouts, bad nerves, panic attacks, or something else that is detrimental. We still have not got to the hangover for this alcoholic. The people around this alcoholic would walk away because they do not want to be a part of this wrath. If they stay, then they will get the full brunt of it. This is not going to have a good ending.
SUBJECT 3 – The Ex-Neighbor
Our third subject is someone that resorts to using his fists after he tried to use his head. On any given night, I heard this person argue with his girlfriend. Usually it was over something frivolous. One night, the arguing between these two lovers became more intense than expected. He accused her of sleeping with another guy. She accused him of not spending a lot of time with her. One thing led to another and I heard a big whomp, followed by a loud, blood curling scream!! Within minutes someone called 911 and the police came. Later that night, the police took him away for domestic battery. Luckily, the girl is alive. Through that fit of rage, he lost his freedom, his girlfriend, his apartment, and his job. I don’t know what he is up to, but I bet he regrets hitting his girlfriend that night.
There you have it. Three different examples on how anger can be a detriment to people and their surroundings. People that resort to this emotion can create more of the negativity they attract. Fortunately, there are other alternatives to counter a hothead. One can meditate. One can start breathing. One can listen to music. Heck, one can do something that is not only productive, but also creative. Face it!! There are many ways not to be angry!!
In conclusion, the next time someone or something gets you upset, ask yourself if it is worth the trouble. Whether it is or isn’t, do your best to avoid resorting to angering tactics. Having a cool head will benefit more than you think.
That is all I have for now. Take care and thank you for your time and attention.
Sincerely,
Jesse I-I-I

Is It Really Worth It?
Greetings Happy People,
No matter where we are, we get tested in different situations. Whether it is at home, at work, or at any establishment, we face moments where things can get tense. In the face of a challenge, we can handle it in two different ways: with a cool head or a hot one. It pays to keep a cool head in tense moments. With a cool head, you can look at things, find ways to handle them, and move on with your life. When you have a cool head, you can overcome any obstacle with ease. Having a cool head not only benefits you, but everyone else around your environment. Although this sounds easy to do, we must remember that things can be done this way. You can win with a cool head!!
As for handling things with a hot head, we can do that too. On a personal note, I would not recommend it. Doing things out of anger can leave you in a situation far worse than where you started. You can yell at people. You can give them the middle finger - two if you are that angry and three if you are VERY angry. Heck!! You can also beat the living hell out of someone. But when you do all of these things, ask yourself if it is even worth it. There are always after effects of doing things out of anger. Not many of them are good. Relationships can end. People can go to jail. Lives can be lost.
In different parts of my life, I’ve seen anger displayed at home, at work, and at public places. I also used a hot head in different situations. I am sure you have used different levels of anger in your lives. No matter the fury, nothing feels worse than remorse. History can also be a great teacher in the damaging effects of anger. Look at the people that got in trouble in the last few years. Look at the riots that happened in the last few decades. Look at the wars that happened in different centuries. Anger can open doors, but to what?
If I were to offer any advice to you happy people, it would be this. Whenever you get involved in something that makes you upset. Please do your best to find ways to deal with it other than shouting or physical violence. You will be better off that way.
That is all I have for now. Take care and thank you for your time and attention.
Sincerely,
